an unknown lady in black and white

A happy face in black and white:  on the streets of Seattle.

Her smile makes me smile....I'm wondering who is putting this smile on her face.  It's someone who is listening to her every word:

Isn't she a lovely.....

...Little Abbi Girl

The process:  In Photoshop, start with a new blank file...white background.

Pulled Abbi's photo from my album and erased some of the 'stuff'.  Played around with the lens flare filter to
 further de-emphasize her surroundings.

layered Abbi's  altered picture in the blank file

Pulled this picture from my albums and layered it on top of Abbi's picture.  Adjusted opacity...erased the flowers from her face.  Now isn't she a lovely in the flower garden.....

Art out of Quebec

 the original picture

with just a little radlab love....either way, this was a beautiful piece of art hanging at the Auberge duMont in Quebec, painted by one of the students at the school.  I continue to be amazed at the depth of the simplistic expressions on each child's face.

She was just sitting - on a street in Rome - on the seat of a Harley motorcycle - waiting, watching and smoking.  I liked that she seemed at ease being alone amidst a crowd.....no jewelry, no tattoo, no lipstick, no hairspray!  Hair pulled away from her neck to stay cool in the heat of the day.  A far-away look in her eyes.

As my bus pulled away, I got one last glimpse of the girl ~

Collage No. 5

Collage No. 5 included the most unlikely subjects.  First, a picture of my Jailhouse Rock quilt.

a church out of Port Townsend, Washington

a picture on display in a Seattle art  gallery where I saw the Picasso exhibit

A couple of textures were thrown into the mix:  Scratched metal from Jerry Jones and my scribbles texture. When completed, I thought all my unlikely subjects put on a happy face!
